About tiphub capital

We believe that the next generation of world-changing companies will emerge from Africa and its global Diaspora. Our job is to find those founders first and give them every possible advantage.

Our Story

tiphub capital was founded in 2018 by a group of investors and operators who shared a conviction: Africa's technology ecosystem was at an inflection point, and the founders building at the frontier deserved partners who truly understood their context.

We started writing checks from Washington, DC — a city with the largest African Diaspora population in the United States — because we believed proximity to the Diaspora was as important as proximity to the markets themselves.

Since then, we've backed 50+ companies across 12 African markets, with our portfolio raising over $2 billion in follow-on funding and producing 9 exits, including Paystack's landmark $200M+ acquisition by Stripe.

tiphub capital LLC, registered in Delaware, USA. Offices in Washington, DC and Lagos, Nigeria.

Our Values

These principles guide every investment decision we make and every relationship we build.

Founder-First

We work for our founders, not the other way around. Their success is our only metric that matters.

Proximity Matters

We invest where we have deep networks. Context, cultural understanding, and on-the-ground relationships unlock real value.

Conviction Over Consensus

We back founders before the market agrees. Our best investments were ones others passed on.

Community is Capital

The strongest asset we offer is access to our network of 200+ operators, investors, and founders across Africa and the Diaspora.

Our Investment Thesis

Africa is home to 1.4 billion people, with a median age of 19. The continent's internet economy is projected to reach $180B by 2025, growing at 5x the global average. We believe this represents the single largest opportunity in venture capital over the next two decades.

We focus on four sectors where we see the greatest compounding returns:

Financial Infrastructure

Payments, lending, insurance, and wealth management for the continent's largely underserved population.

Commerce & Logistics

B2B commerce platforms, last-mile delivery, and supply chain digitization across fragmented markets.

Health & Education

Telemedicine, EdTech, and workforce development platforms that serve the continent's young population.

Climate & Energy

Clean energy access, carbon markets, and climate-resilient agriculture technology.
